[Voiceover Intro] London. 1885. A time of great darkness. A time for a hero. Clockwork Man. [Verse 1] A crazy inventor created me, Out of spare parts on his shelf; Then he decided he hated me, Leaving me all by myself. I didn't know, Where I ought to go, My gears didn't know what to do. Later that night, They told me to fight, For the rights of humans like you. [Chorus] And now I'm Clockwork Man: I'm a crime-fighting automaton! Clockwork Man: I'm a hero you can depend upon! Clockwork Man - if you take me apart, You'll find that Clockwork Man wasn't built with a heart. [Verse 2] Now I recount how one special case, I teamed up with Sherlock Holmes; And we discovered the hiding place, Of the Psionic Gnomes. As he fell entranced, I bravely advanced, Into the battle alone; To quickly destroy, Their latest employ, An army of Frankenstein clones. [Chorus] Because I'm Clockwork Man: I'm a crime-fighting automaton! Clockwork Man: I'm a hero you can depend upon! Clockwork Man - if you take me apart, You'll find that Clockwork Man wasn't built with a heart. [Bridge] 'Cause hearts aren't needed if you're a hero, Emotions hold you back and get in your way. You can't have friends when you're at ground zero, But sometimes I wonder... Sometimes I wonder... [Verse 3] Captain Von Billiard's my nemesis, Flying his Airship of Doom Threat'ning the city with viruses, And locking a girl in a room. The hero, he thought, Would fall for his plot, And rescue the girl from her fate. The gears in my head, Said "Leave her for dead, Burn the airship before its too late!" [Chorus] Because I'm Clockwork Man: I'm a crime-fighting automaton! Clockwork Man: I'm a hero you can depend upon! Clockwork Man - if you take me apart, You'll find that Clockwork Man wasn't built with a heart.

[Verse 1 (5/8)] I just got home from working all day, Don't wanna discuss it, nothing to say. I'm terribly tired, barely can stay awake. Slip on pajamas, climb into bed, I fluff up my pillow, lay back my head, And stare at the ceiling, feeling as if I'm dead. I only need to find, Some way to clear my mind, I want to fall asleep. [Chorus (3/4)] Hush! Take a deep breath, close your eyes. Sweet dreams will find you, ere sunrise. [Verse 2 (5/8)] Lying in bed and trying to fall asleep, Please don't tell me I should be counting sheep, Cause I've tried that -- it doesn't work for me. Tossing and turning throughout the night. I lay on my left side, then on my right. It looks like somebody left on the bathroom light. I can't get any rest, 'Cause I am far too stressed! I want to fall asleep! [Chorus (3/4)] Hush! Take a deep breath, close your eyes. Sweet dreams will find you, ere sunrise. [Verse 3 (5/8)] I can't describe how helpless I'm feeling, 'Round and around my mind keeps on reeling, From all the things that I have been dealing with. Why are my brain and body still warring? Why aren't I sleeping? Why aren't I snoring? It's almost five o'clock in the morning now. Here comes the sun's first ray, Starting a brand new day. I never fell asleep!

[Verse 1] Seems I'm waiting for a lifetime, For my lifetime just to start; Every day I hear the rhythm, Of the beating of your heart. I'm still growing for a while, But one day I'll see your face; You'll look down at me and smile, As I rest in your embrace. [Bridge] But wait, what's happening? Something isn't right! My feet are being pulled roughly toward the light, And I'm not ready yet to go. I guess that this is how its gonna be, I'll die alone. Will you cry with me? I guess that I will never know... [Chorus] But will you miss me when I'm gone? Will you miss me when I'm gone? Will you miss me when I'm gone? [Verse 2] Maybe I'd have been an artist, Or an astronaut in space; Could have even been the president, Now I have no dreams to chase. Cause I'll never see a sunrise, And I'll never smell a rose; I will never hear a symphony, Or get to play in winter snows. So many friends I'll never know, So many sights I'll never see, So many hopes I haven't hoped yet, So many things I'll never be. [Chorus] But will you miss me when I'm gone? Will you miss me when I'm gone? Will you miss me when I'm gone? Do you miss me now I'm gone?

I can still remember that small room where this began, When I woke up I barely knew my name. You told me of some protocols for all those tests you ran, You almost seemed to treat it like some game. My first mistake was being so naive. I guess that I just wanted to believe that this would all be over soon. And you said there'd be cake... But I've seen the writing on the wall, And I'm not gonna fall for all your - So-called "enhancing" of the truth. And when these tests are finally through, I'll give a test to you because, I have seen the writing on the wall. You might've tried to hide it, but the turrets made it clear, You really didn't want me to survive. I dodged a couple bullets there, but nothing's quite like fear, To make a person GLaD they're Still Alive. But then you made me burn my only friend. I knew right there that this could only end with watching you go down in flames. And then I'd have my cake... Cause I've seen the writing on the wall, And I'm not gonna fall for all your - So-called "enhancing" of the truth. And when these tests are finally through, I'll give a test to you because, I have seen the writing on the wall. You thought that you could kill me on that final burning floor, But I escaped, and now the fun begins. I'm sick of all those buttons, and those stupid sliding doors, I never want to see a box again. It seems like I've been in this place for days, Just wandering this stupid endless maze, and when I find you, you will die, Cause you said there'd be cake - But it's a lie.

[Verse 1] Haven't you ever wished that you never had to go to work again? Haven't you ever wanted a fancy car? Or maybe five or ten? And wouldn't you like to use a gold-plated toothbrush? Or write with a silver pen? Well these are a few, Of the things I can do, Now that I have gotten the news: [Chorus] That you're dead.... (You're dead) And now your attorney, Gave me all your money. You're dead... (You're dead) What's left of your treasure, Is left to my pleasure, So now I can do all those things I've been dying to do. You can't take it with you, So I think I'll take it from you. [Verse 2] Maybe I'll go and fill up a swimming pool with lots of frozen peas. Maybe I'll buy a football arena, and stuff it full of nacho cheese. And just for the grins, I'll take the state of Rhode Island, and decorate all it's trees. And then I'll go buy, A full-life-time supply, Of disposable shoes. [Chorus] 'Cause you're dead... (You're dead) And now your attorney, Gave me all your money. You're dead... (You're dead) What's left of your treasure, Is left to my pleasure, So now I can do all those things I've been dying to do. You can't take it with you, So I think I'll take it from you. [Verse 3] I'll have a fleet of personal jets that I will teach myself to fly. Every morning, I'll start the day by parachuting from the sky. I'll climb up mount Everest, and then go cave-diving, And maybe one day I'll die? But who would receive, All the things that I'd leave? It wouldn't really matter to me: [Final Chorus] When I'm dead... (I'm dead) I think my attorney, Would take all my money, When I'm dead... (I'm dead) I'd spent all that treasure, On nothing but pleasure, I wanted to do all the things I was dying to do. I can't take it with me, So someone would take it from me.

[Verse 1] 1969: They crowd around the TV set, To watch one giant leap for mankind. A child's dream: To one day be an astronaut, And see what new worlds she can find. Then one day she's flying higher than the air, While back on earth her mother says a prayer. And gorgeous views await her eye, An emerald sea, a cloud-filled sky, And it's too soon to say goodbye. [Chorus] She will never tire, Gazing out the window, Watching the world go by; Looking for some interesting things, To capture as memories. [Verse 2] Shining xenon lights, Illuminate the orbiter, And drive away the darkness of the night. The end is near: A countdown to a legacy, As she prepares to take her final flight, When Atlantis rises from a sea of cloud, For one last time to make her nation proud, A contrail arcs across the sky, This is the last time she will fly, But it's too soon to say goodbye. [Chorus] She will never tire, Gazing out the window, Watching the world go by; Looking for some interesting things, To capture as memories. And it's too soon to say goodbye.

Footprints 03:28
This place seems familiar, I don't know why, I can't remember, Hard as I try. Hallways keep on shifting, They have no end, No way of telling, What's 'round the bend. Someone's taken something, I'm not sure who, Or what they've stolen, But I purse. Escheresque distortions, Confound my way, I must press onward, No time to stay. [Chorus] Footprints everywhere, Where do they go? Who left them there? Why don't I know? I feel compelled to find answers, To all of these questions, But the answers elude me. Overlapping footprints, Strewn on the floor, Some pass right under, Walls with no door. Some just end in mid-stride, How very weird, As if their maker, Had disappeared. Prints across the ceiling, And up the wall, Where I can't reach them, Without a fall. There's no way to follow, This hopeless track. There's no way forward, And no way back. [Chorus] Footprints everywhere, Where do they go? Who left them there? Why don't I know? I feel compelled to find answers, To all of these questions, But the answers elude me.

To the Administrator of Extraplanetary Research, I wish you a "Happy Valentines Day", for that is what the inhabitants of this planet call today. It appears to be another of their so-called "Holy Days" although I have yet to find an individual who can relate to me any information about the eponymous figure, St. Valentine. Rather, it is claimed to be a day dedicated to public displays of the emotion which they call "love". However, in this respect, their language seems to be significantly deficient in nuance. Depending upon context, this term can be used to describe a baffling array of favorable relationships with other entities, ranging from one's mate, to one's siblings or parents, to one's animal companion, and even to one's food. The universally recognized symbol of this day is a stylized figure which they refer to as a "heart" although in actuality, it bears no similarity to the anatomical organ. Indeed, it more closely resembles the appearance of a leaf. The depiction of an element of the cardiovascular system appears to be motivated by the physiological and hormonal responses triggered by the aforementioned emotion. Given that their blood is red, due to it's high iron content, it is logical that various shades of this color, are featured prominently on this day. Another widely used symbolic element, which they call a "cupid", is truly inexplicable. This is a depiction of a very young juvenile with avian wings sprouting from it's back, and versed in the primitive combat skill of archery. I do not know what conclusions to draw from this disturbing observation. As was the case with their previous holy-day, celebration involves the giving of gifts (though on a smaller scale), and the shared consumption of non-nutritional substances. An especially popular gift is the detached reproductive structures of plants, which can be artificially sustained in a vessel of water. It is conceivable that the inevitable withering of these structures is intended to symbolize that percentage of mating bonds which are terminated before death. In addition, participants give one another pieces of cardboard with various platitudes inscribed upon them. An oft-ingested item on this day is a brown substance comprised of a mixture of fat and sugar, flavored with the extract of certain beans. They call this substance "chocolate", and I hypothesize that it contains chemicals which amplify the effect of the emotions in the brain, although further research would be needed to ascertain this. As you can see from this and my previous reports, these beings are highly impulsive and illogical. It is my recommendation that we continue to abstain from contact at this time. May you live long and prosper.

Quietly, the Quetzalcoatlus, Sits atop his tree, Searching out across the ocean slowly. As the sun, in the southwest, Sinks into the sea, Turns the sky orange and indigo. He sees a splash, his supper is there, Spreads his arms, takes to the air. The Quetzalcoatlus soars... The Quetzalcoatlus soars... The Quetzalcoatlus soars. Overhead, quick as an arrow, Sailing to the scene, He arrives to hunt his territory. Suddenly, splitting the surface, Straight into the sea, Awkwardly, he quickly quaffs his quarry. If he's alive, there isn't a quiz, He'll survive, and the skies are his. The Quetzalcoatlus soars... The Quetzalcoatlus soars... The Quetzalcoatlus... Absent are any observers to see, His aerodynamic agility, His aerial tricks, And acrobatics, Are seen to him alone, They're seen to him alone. If he's alive, there isn't a quiz, He'll survive, and the skies are his. The Quetzalcoatlus soars... The Quetzalcoatlus soars... The Quetzalcoatlus soars.

We're saving the planet from aliens, Stop treating it like its a game. We're spilling our blood for the greater good, Though our rookies don't know how to aim. We're building new technology, That puts our guns to shame. You probably haven't heard of us, But XCOM is our name. And we'll fight! Fight! Fight! Every place they dare to tread; At least until a xeno shoots a teammate in the head; Then we'll stop and mourn the dead. Then we'll keep on fighting cause we don't have any choice, And we'll push 'em back, and drive 'em out, Until we can rejoice, When the planet's finally free, and we shout our victory: Vigilo! Confido! XCOM! When Mutons are marching in Mexico, Or Floaters are fighting in France; If Chryssalids hit us in India, And Sectopods savage Japan; We'll send a squad to bravely save, The citizens we can. We're fighting an unknown enemy; We serve the Shadow Man. And we'll fight! Fight! Fight! Every place they dare to tread; At least until a xeno shoots a teammate in the head; Then we'll stop and mourn the dead. Then we'll keep on fighting cause there's nothing else to do, And we'll shoot 'em up and cut 'em down, Until the task is through; When the aliens retreat, And our motto we repeat: Vigilo! Confido! XCOM!
